Will I be charged for services I receive at Essential Health Clinic?

When you become a client at Essential Health Clinic, a Client Liaison will assess your financial situation. Once assessed, you will be placed on a sliding fee scale, which means you will be charged for your services based on Federal Poverty Guidelines and your ability to pay. Additionally, based on your income, a client liaison may find that you are eligible for a program that will cover the cost of your services.

Will Essential Health Clinic bill my insurance?

Yes, Essential Health Clinic will bill your insurance, if you want. In order to do so, we need you to bring in your insurance card or a copy of your insurance card. However, different insurers pay different amounts. It may be helpful to call the number on the back of your insurance card to determine what services your insurance will cover. You are responsible for any unpaid portion of your charges. To help you cover this unpaid portion, if you are eligible, you can be enrolled in a cost-covering program even if you have insurance. Your insurance and the cost-covering program can be used in conjunction to cover your services.

How do I know if I am eligible for a program that will cover the cost of my services?

If you are interested in enrolling in a state-subsidized healthcare program that will cover the cost of your services at Essential Health Clinic, our Client Liaisons can assist you with figuring out your eligibility and the application process prior to your appointment. You can also review programs and eligibility requirements here.
